ITEM #12 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF August 15, 2006 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., PW DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER <br />SUBJECT: APPROVE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE CITY <br />HALL REMODELLING PHASE II PROJECT. <br />DATE: August 3, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City Hall Remodeling Project- Phase H was funded and added to the City's Capital <br />Improvement Program in September 2004. The completed scope of work provides Police <br />personnel a new mini -gym and locker area. The project construction started in early July of 2005. <br />Demolition, plumbing, electric lighting installation and other various small-scale non -specialty jobs <br />were completed by employees from various city departments. Other trade work was contracted out <br />such as: wall/ceiling framing, drywall, T -bar ceiling, ceramic tiling, air conditioning, and masonry. <br />Kwang Cook and Associates provided the architectural and structural design for this project. <br />Contractors hired to complete parts of the construction phase include: Inland Empire Construction, <br />Best Custom Garage Coating, A-1 Budget Glass, CHI Inc., Wildan Associates, Ceramic Tile <br />Works and Design, Kretschmer & Smith Inc., Padress Air and Radix Fire Construction Inc. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />The Building and Safety Division performed the building inspection. An inspector from Wildan <br />& Associates, Inc. was hired to complete a final inspection and the project was formally signed <br />off for completion in June. Minor touch-up work has been addressed in the past month and the <br />project is now ready to be signed off; the gym is now being utilized by the Police Department. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The proposed public improvements are Exempt under Section 15301 of the California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). <br />
