ITEM #12
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 17, 2009
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
FROM: MARITZA TAPIR, ASSISTANT PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
SUBJECT: ACCEPT AND APPROVE RECORDATION OF PARCEL MAP WITH
GRANT DEED FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT AND UTILITY
PURPOSES FROM PROPERTY OWNER OF ASSESOR PARCEL
NUMBER (APN) 0163-351-24 AT BOSTICK AVE.
DATE: February 10, 2009
BACKGROUND:
Bostick Avenue, at present, terminates at about 600 feet north of West Loma Verde Drive to a
property owned by W & P La Loma Hills, Inc. The street is not connected to West Tropica Rancho
Road. The right-of-way at West Tropica Rancho Road itself needs to be widened. There is an
existing 15 -foot wide roadway easement from West Tropica Rancho Road to the water reservoir
operated and maintained by the City. The easement traverses the property owned by Medco, LLC.
ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION:
Future plans to extend Bostick Avenue thru West Tropica Rancho will necessitate land dedications
of properties north of the said street. The development of Medco, LLC along West Tropica Rancho
Avenue gave the City opportunity to condition a portion of their property for future street
improvements. The east side boundary of the property aligns to Bostick Avenue which is about 300
feet south of its current location. The owner agreed to dedicate a total of thirty (30) feet along the
east, future Bostick Avenue (See Exhibit A) and fourteen (14) feet along the north, West Tropica
Rancho Road (See Exhibit B) of its boundaries. The dedication also will be used as access to the
water reservoir thus eliminating the road easement on the owner's property. The owner also agreed
to install street improvements leading to the reservoir.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This action does not have an environmental impact.
