JOHNSONj <br />Personnel Director ) <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF UP TO SIX MONTH EXTENSION ON THE PROVISIONAL <br />APPOINTMENT OF FRANK GUERRERO PROGRAM SPECIALIST <br />BACKGROUND <br />Ken Herron, Director of Parks, Recreation and Human Services, has requested that the recruitment for the <br />position of Program Specialist be postponed until the Fiscal Year 1993-94 budget process is completed. <br />The provisional appointment of Mr. Guerrero will expire April 20, 1993. Personnel Rule IX, Section 6, states <br />"The City Council may, by a four-fifths vote, extend beyond six months, the period for provisional <br />appointment." Council is requested to extend the provisional appointment for six months to allow staff time <br />to complete the budget process and recruit for the position. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is staff's recommendation that the City Council approve an extension of the provisional appointment of Frank <br />Guerrero, Program Specialist, for up to six months. <br />Concur ze, L I/ <br />City Manager <br />B4.AGENFG <br />'-- <br />
