r ' CITY Of COLTON <br />w:.., <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of June 1, 1993 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Department of Parks, Recreation and Human Services <br />SUBJECT: National Recreational Trail Fund Grant Date:May 27, 1993 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The National Recreational Trail Fund Act provides funds for <br />acquisition, development and maintenance of recreational trails <br />and trailrelated projects. Eligibility is limited to state <br />agencies, cities, counties,districts and non profit <br />organizations with management responsibilities over public lands. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In California specifically there is $180,00 available for non <br />motorized programs and $100,000 -for motorized programs. Parks, <br />Recreation, and ,Human Services staff will be packaging an <br />application requesting $20,000 to improve trails in the City -of <br />Colton. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Jerry Young, City Manager, be named as <br />agent for the City of Colton in the National Recreational Trail <br />Fund Grant Application. <br />Report prepared by Erik Wood, Administrative Intern <br />City Manager's Concurrence <br />c <br />Attachments: <br />Page 1 of — Item No. `� <br />
