CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 4,1996 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CTPY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: NABAR ENRIQUE MARTINEZ, CITY MANAGEI2� <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR '- <br />SUBJECT: RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT TO THE PART-TIME <br />POSITIONS (2) OF POLICE CADET IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: MAY 28,1996 <br />BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant Police Cadet position in the Police Department. This <br />position became vacant on January 10, 1996. There are sufficient funds remaining in the 1995-96 <br />fiscal year for one additional position. Attached is the job description for the classification; hourly <br />rate is $5.25. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position is being conducted on a continuous basis. <br />Written examinations were conducted in April 1996. An eligibility list was established on April 30, <br />1996. The candidates being referred for Council ratification meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Police Cadet positions are funded by asset seizure funds in the 1995- <br />96 fiscal year. Fund Account No. 61-6101-04 (salary - temporary). These positions will be funded <br />by the general fund in the 1996-97 fiscal year.
