CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />r or uny Uouncil Ineeting of July 15, 1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: Gracie Fernandez Harmon, Acting City Manager <br />FROM: Gracie Fernandez Harmon, Personnel Director <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Job Description for Personnel Clerk and Setting Basic <br />Compensation Rate <br />DATE: July 9, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: In Fiscal Year 1996-97 the position of Personnel Assistant was approved in <br />the Personnel Department. However, in FY 1997-98 that position was downgraded to Personnel <br />Clerk. The position of Personnel Clerk is critical to the needs to this department. The function <br />has been filled throughout FY 1996-97 with employees from a temp agency. The Personnel <br />Clerk assists the Personnel Specialist with all clerical support necessary for conducting <br />recruitments, testing, recordkeeping, communications with applicants, etc. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Attached is the proposed job description and resolution setting the <br />compensation rate for Personnel Clerk. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />FUNDING AVAILABILITY• This position is funded in the FY 1997-98 budget as follows: <br />Account No. 100-6030-6030-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6030-6030-1100 (salary related <br />benefits). <br />Gracie Fernandez Harmon, Personnel Director <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council adopt the job description and resolution setting <br />the basic compensation rate for Personnel Clerk. <br />ghdata/agenda/Pers Clerk.doc <br />Item No. 5 <br />
