CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of June 17, 1997
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
APPROVAL: Gracie Harmon, Acting City Manager
FROM: Anna A. Vega, Finance Director --.--
SUBJECT: Approve Agreement Between City and County for Collection of Special
Taxes, Fees, and Assessments Relating to Each CFD and All Other
City Assessments and Fees.
DATE: June 10, 1997
BACKGROUND
Annually these levies have been placed on the tax rolls without an agreement. However,
due to the passage of Proposition 218, the County is now making this a requirement.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS
Attached are six new contracts. One between the City and the County of San Bernardino
(County) and one between the County and each of the City's five Community Facilities
District (CFD). These contracts must be approved by City Council and returned to the County
prior to submission of special assessments for fiscal year 1997-98, but not later than July 1,
1997.
ALTERNATIVES
None.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
No financial impact. However, without these contracts in place, the County will not authorize
special assessments submitted by the City to be put on the 1997-98 tax rolls.
C- LL\t"" C
Anna A. Vega, Finance it for
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
None.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve the contract and authorize staff to sign the
agreements between the City and the County and the agreements between the County and
each of the City's five CFD's.
Item No. 12
