HUTTON, PUBLIC WOR DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND NOTICE OF COMPL TION FOR THE CDBG PROJECT <br />#104-24102 BALLFIELD IMPROVEMENTS — MAX LOFY PARK <br />DATE: APRIL 8, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The CDBG Project #104-24102 Ballfreld Improvements — Max Lofy Park, consisting of the removal of the <br />existing backstop and foundations and the installation of a replacement Baseball field backstop with 120 <br />linear feet of attached fencing; The San Bernardino County Department of Economic and Community <br />Development (E.C.D.) approved and authorized a Notice to Proceed for the project and reimbursable <br />funds in the amount of $13,200 were allocated by City Council. <br />In order to keep the cost of the project within the bounds of the funding allocation for this project, Public <br />Works Department personnel were utilized for the removal of the existing backstop, 120' of fencing and <br />concrete foundations. Proposals were solicited for the installation of the replacement backstop and 120' <br />of fencing, and the contract was awarded to Econo Fence Company in the amount of $13,995.00. <br />SUMMARY: <br />The Contractor has completed all work as specified, in the Contract as of March 17, 1999. Final <br />,Inspections were conducted March 18, 1999 with no exceptions noted. The Department of Community <br />& Economic Development (E.C.D.) were notified of the completion of the Project and all required CDBG <br />conditions were acceptably met by the Contractor. No Change Orders were required for this Project. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />This Project is CDBG funded in conjunction with City funding from account 215-7000-7004-3890 in the <br />total amount of $13,995.00; the City will be reimbursed for the amount of $13,200.00 upon Council's final <br />acceptance of the Project and receipt of the duly recorded Notice of Completion. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />• Staff recommends final acceptance of the CDBG Project #104-24102 Bal/fleld Improvements — Max <br />Lofy Park with a Contract amount of $13,995.00 and requests Council's authorization for the filing of <br />a Notice of Completion for this Project. <br />• Staff recommends that Council approve the execution and recordation of the attached Notice of <br />Completion. <br />Attachment <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item # 12 <br />
