HUTTON, PUBLIC WORKS DtRECTOR � <br />SUBJECT: RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENTS (2) TO THE FULL-TIME <br />POSITION OF MAINTENANCE WORKER I IN THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DEPARTMENT, PARKS DIVISION <br />DATE: DECEMBER 17, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There are two (2) positions, (Maintenance Worker III and Maintenance Worker II), that are <br />currently vacant that will be under-filled by two (2� Maintenance Worker I's. Attached is the job <br />description for the classification. Salary Range for a Maintenance Worker III is $2,137. - <br />$2,598., salary range for a Maintenance Worker II is $1,877. -$2,283., and the salary range <br />for a Maintenance Worker I is $1,788. -$2,174. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />These positions became vacant when the incumbents accepted promotional appointments to <br />the Electric and Stormwater Divisions. Recruitment for said position was conducted and an <br />eligibility list established. The candidates being referred for Council ratification meet all the <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />These are approved general fund positions in the Fiscal Year 1998/99 budget, funded as <br />follows: Account No. 100-6150-6153-1010 (Salary-miscellaneous) and Account No. 100-6150- <br />6153-1100 (salary related benefits). Under-filling these positions will result in an annual salary <br />savings a proximat ly $14,976. <br />C � <br />oh C.
