FRASER, DIRECTOR OF WATER & WASTEWATER OPERATIONS <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR RECRUITMENT AND RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE <br />APPOINTMENT TO FULL-TIME POSITION OF WATER DISTRIBUTION OPERATOR IN THE <br />WATER DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: August 7, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There is a need to establish an Eligibility List for future vacancies for the position of Water Distribution <br />Operator I to ensure the continuation of reliable service to the community. The salary range is $2,185-2,657. <br />DISCUSSION /ANALYSIS: <br />It is in the best interest of the City to maintain a full staffing level in the water operations division. To meet <br />this need an eligibility list of qualified candidates is a useful tool to minimize the time frame to fill vacancies. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: There are budgeted funds in the FY2001/02 two-year budget which will be charged to <br />Account Numbers 521-8001-8101-1010 (Salaries) and 521-8001-8101-1100 (Related Benefits). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends Colton Utility Authority approval of the request for recruitment and ratification of employee <br />appointments to the full-time position of Water Distribution Operator I in the Water Department as vacancies <br />occur. <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />City Attorney: Finance Director: LA— "_ _%L -t& <br />City Manager: Human Resources Manager: (o� <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
