MCKEE VER INC. IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $45,300.00 <br />DATE: DECEMBER 5.2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The EDA PROJECT NO. 07-01-05132 (CONSTRUCTION OF INFRASTRUCTURE <br />IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVE THE COOLEY RANCH AREA) is adjacent to Ashley Furniture site <br />and consists of reconstruction of a portion of two (2) existing streets (East Cooley Drive and South <br />Cooley Drive), construction of two (2) new streets (Drivers World Parkway and Frontage Road), <br />construction of various concrete improvements (curb, gutter, AC berm, sidewalk, handicap ramps, <br />and reinforced box culverts), installation of water and sewer mains and the required laterals, <br />construction of storm drain manholes and pipelines to connect the proposed storm drain system, <br />installation of street light bases, conduits and lines for the electrical system, and relocation of <br />pipelines. The Council awarded the construction contract for this project on October 1, 2002. <br />On September 25, 2002, RFP (Request for Proposal for Construction Staking) was sent out to four <br />(4) Engineering Firms. Staff received formal proposal from three (3) Engineering Firms namely: <br />W. J. McKeever Inc. from Riverside, California <br />L. D. King, hic. from Ontario, California <br />W & H Pacific from Irvine, California <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />Staff has evaluated proposals and has determined that W. J. McKeever Inc. best meets the <br />qualifications for this work. Copies of the three (3) proposals were sent to Department of Economic <br />Development Administration (EDA -Los Angeles Office) for evaluation and subsequently the City <br />
