CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 2, 2003 <br />Item #1 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Daryl Parrish, City Manager <br />Historic Preservation Officer <br />SUBJECT: Public Hearing to consider the Designation of Historic Landmark #51, <br />located at 280 East F Street <br />DATE: November 24, 2003 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On September 18, 2003, the Historic Preservation Commission (see attached Exhibit A) <br />reviewed and approved the designation of the following site as a Historic Landmark within the <br />City of Colton: <br />Landmark #51 Residence 280 East F Street <br />The dwelling owner, Clara Guerrero, requested the designation of the residential dwelling. This <br />dwelling is a significant historical resource on an individual and neighborhood/district basis. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The residential dwelling at 280 East F Street was constructed in 1911. It is a one-story Queen <br />Anne -Bungalow home and includes a rear cottage -dwelling constructed in 1928. The residence <br />is situated among other Bungalow and Queen Anne Style residences on the south side of East <br />F Street. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The designation of this historic landmark will create no financial impact to the City. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The project has been determined to be categorically exempt pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) <br />and Section 15331 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Based on the Historic Preservation Commission's review and the recommendation of <br />Archaeological Consulting Services, of the historically eligible site, staff recommends <br />designation of historic Landmark #51 as described above. <br />Attachment: Exhibit A <br />Resolution <br />Report Prepared by: Carolina P.
