Clarke, Electric Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: Acceptance of Easement from individual for Public Utility purposes. <br />DATE: February 23, 2004 <br />Item #8 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Colton Electric Utility installed a primary line extension to serve the customer at <br />2299 Reche Canyon Road. In order for the City of Colton to provide service to an adjacent lot, <br />an easement is needed though the property at 2299 Reche Canyon Road. The owner of the <br />property is granting the City of Colton an easement to facilitate this. <br />DISCUSSIONIANALYSIS: <br />The primary electrical line extended onto the property is the property of the City of Colton, and <br />is part of the electrical system. The easement is needed to assure the City of Colton maintains <br />utility access to the adjacent property. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The property owner is providing this easement in exchange for a waiver of the Electric Utility <br />line extension fee in the amount of $3,170.00. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council accept the primary electric line <br />easement from the property owner. <br />TEAM ONLY <br />Attorney: <br />Manager: <br />Report prepared by: MWWW Pierce, Electrical Systems Engineer <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />Finance <br />OTHER: <br />
