ORDINANCE NO. 1122 <br />AN ORDINANCr; OF THE CITY OF COL'TON <br />REVISING AND AMENDING THE CIVIL <br />SERVICE SYSTEM FOR SAID CITY. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. � ���i'I' ,L Or RE A 0J.`', FOR ADOPTING THIS ORDINANCE NO. 11ZL, <br />'The City Council of the City of Colton expressly finds it to be in the best public interest <br />to amend and revise the Civil Service System as heretofore adopted by said City Courci' <br />and to continue the same as thus amended and revised. <br />SECTION 2. PERSONNEL OFFICER, The City Manager shall be ex -officio <br />personnel officer. The City Manager shall: <br />(a) Attend all meetings of the Personnel Board and serve as its secretary. <br />(b) Administer all the provisions of this ordinance and of the personnel <br />rules not specifically reserved to the Council or the Personnel Board. <br />(c) Prepare .-..gid !, --c l-mmend to the Council revisions and amendments to the <br />personnel rules. The City Attorney shall approve the legality of such <br />revisions and amendments prior to their submission to the Council. <br />(d) Prepare a position classification plan, including class specifications, <br />and r. Pvisions of the plan. The plan, and any revisions thereof, shall <br />become effective upon approval by the Council. <br />(e) Prepare a plan of compensation, and revisions thereof, covering all <br />classifications in the city except elective positions. The plan, and <br />any revisions thereof, shall become effective upon approval by the <br />Council. <br />(f) Pu-blish or post notices of examinations for positions in the competitive <br />service; to receive applications therefor; to certify to the Personnel <br />Clem;. a list of X11 persons eligible for appointment in the appropriate <br />class ,-n the competitive service. <br />SECTIC"J 3. APPOINTT..IENT OF PERSONNEL CLERK. The City Manager shall <br />appoint, upon approval of the t;3ty Council, a Personnel Clerk whose duty it shall be <br />to act in the capacity of a secretary and clerk for the Civil Service System.
