IN- <br />JURE* DISABLE OR KILL ANY DOG USED <br />BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OR TO <br />MOLEST ANY SUCH DOG WHILE BEING <br />USED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE <br />FUNCTIONS OR DUTIES OF SUCH DEPART- <br />MENT OR OF ANY OFFICER OR MEMBER <br />THEREOF, <br />The City Council of the City of Colton does ordain as follows: <br />SECTION 1: PROHIBITED CONDUCT: It shall be unlawful for any <br />person to willfully or maliciously torture, tease, torment, beat, kick, strike, <br />mutilate, injure, disable, or kill any dog used by the Police Department of <br />the City of Colton in the performance of the functions or duties of such depart- <br />ment or to unwarrantably interfere with or meddle with any such dog while <br />being used by said department or any officer or member thereof in the per- <br />formance of any of the functions or duties of said department or of such <br />officer or member. <br />SECTION 2: PENALTIES: Any person, violating any of the provisions <br />of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction <br />thereof shall be fined in an amount not exceeding $500. 00 or imprisoned in the <br />City or County jail for a period not exceeding 3 months or by being both so <br />fined and imprisoned. <br />SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Colton shall cause this <br />Ordinance to be published in the Colton Courier at least once within 15 days <br />after its passage. <br />25I ATTEST: <br />26 Com{ <br />Git�r;.grT off` the Zit of olton <br />27II <br />�3I <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />
