CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of February 20, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Leslie A. Keane, City Manage *000, <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Submersible Transformers Date: February 13, 1990 <br />for the Electric Department to Young & Co. <br />in the Amount of $11,551.51. <br />At the Council Meeting of January 16, 1990, bid award for sub- <br />mersible transformers was made to Wesco Utility in the amount of <br />$17,635.22 <br />Wesco Utility has notified the City that the factory cannot supply <br />"taps" on these transformers, which is an important requirement <br />of our specifications. They have found another source that can <br />build to our specification, but the price they quoted would sub- <br />stantially increase. <br />Staff is recommending that we cancel the order with Wesco Utility <br />and make award to Young & Co. for the 37.5 KVA and the 50 KVA sub- <br />mersibles, but Young & Co. does not offer a 15 KVA submersible. <br />As we cannot find a source for this size, we will go to bid for <br />a 25KVA submersible, which is available. <br />RECCOMENDATION: Staff recommends bid award to Young & Co. in the <br />amount of $11,551.51 <br />Report prepared by: Mary J.
