Williams, City Treasurerto <br />SUBJECT: Increase in Fees Charged to Compute <br />Assessment District Payoff <br />R A rV rD (1TTATTI <br />Date: June 29, 1990 <br />In November 1982, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 4256, fixing a $15.00 fee <br />for each application requesting that the City calculate the sum necessary to pay <br />off an assessment. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />The cost to establish a complete amortization schedule for an assessment district <br />is $1,000.00. Numerous requests are made for payoff information on lots and parcels <br />within the assessment districts. Time is expended by the Treasurer, as well as, <br />Finance Department Staff to research, respond, and bill the applicants for this <br />service. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />This service could be turned over to an outside contractor. Fees charged for this <br />service start at $18.00 per request. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />Increase in revenue would help offset expenses of operating the Treasurer's Office. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends adoption of the attached resolution increasing the Fee for <br />Applications Concerning Assessment District Bond Payoffs from $15.00 to $18.00 <br />per request. <br />Attachments: 1 <br />ORIGINAL <br />Page 1 of CENTRAL RECORDS Item No. <br />PILE N0..--------�-91� <br />
