JOHNSON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR 7J Date: 2-21-92 <br />SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF COUNCIL RESOLUTI/ON NO. 2240 - RULE <br />SECTION 6, HOURS OF WORK <br />Background <br />Most city offices will be closed on Fridays beginning March 6, 1992. <br />Personnel Rule XI, Section 6, states: <br />"All offices of the City, except those for which special <br />regulations are required, shall be kept open for business <br />on all days of the year except Saturdays and Sundays and <br />holidays continuously from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. <br />Employees for whom necessity requires a different schedule <br />than that generally applied shall work according to the <br />regulations prepared by the respective supervising official <br />and approved by the Personnel Officer and the City Council." <br />Staff has met and conferred with representatives of the employee <br />associations affected by the new work schedule. The above section <br />should be removed from Resolution No. 2240 since it will no longer be <br />true. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached resolution deleting <br />Section 6 of Personnel Rule I, from Council Resolution No. 2240. <br />Concur <br />City Manager <br />D7:AGEN2240 <br />CEN I`RAL RECORDS <br />FILE NO .................. .- <br />
