CLOUD <br />Acting Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Lighting Poles and Fixtures for the Civic Center Parking Lot to Consolidated <br />Electrical Distributors in the Amount of $11, 835.26. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />It was brought to the attention of the City's Risk Management Division that the poor lighting in the Civic <br />Center parking lot was becoming a safety issue. Risk Management brought the issue before the City's Traffic <br />Committee. The Traffic Committee reviewed this concern and has recommended installing some additional <br />lighting fixtures. <br />On May 26, 1994, General Services posted a Notice Inviting Bids for this requirement. Bid opening was held <br />at 3:30 p.m., June 6, 1994, in the General Services office. Two bids were received and evaluated. A Bid <br />Analysis is attached showing price and delivery terms for each vendor. The recommended vendor's price is <br />underlined. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The funds are available in the Electric Department's Street Light Capital Improvement account. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends bid award to Consolidated Electrical Distributors in the amount of $11,835.26. <br />Report Prepared by: :Mary J.
