CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Co ncil Meeting of March 1, 1994 <br />To: 6A. <br />L Y OUNCIL <br />FROM: ZAMORA Q._ <br />Community Develop r ector <br />SUBJECT: Public Hearing to consider an amendment to Chapter 1. 12.030 of Dare: February 23, 1994 <br />of the Colton Municipal Code which would allow the City Attorney <br />to prosecute certain misdemeanor violations as infractions. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At their regular meeting of February 8, 1994, the PlanningCommission ssion recommend, by <br />Resolution No. R-01-94, approval of an amendment to Title 18 of the Colton Municipal Code <br />(Zoning Ordinance). The amendment, among other changes, will also allow the City to exercise <br />discretion in the abatement of Municipal Code Violations. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS- <br />The proposed amendment, as recommended above by the Planning Commission to the City <br />Council, will be complemented by permitting the City Attorney to proceed with any <br />misdemeanor code enforcement matter as an infraction. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Staff anticipates no financial impact to the City as a result of the proposed amendment. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached Ordinance amending Section 1.12.030 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code, allowing the City Attorney to prosecute certain misdemeanor violations as <br />infractions. <br />tg <br />Attachments: Ordinance <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE: <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br />C <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item No. <br />r <br />
