<br />City Manager Huffaker stated that he had called Mayor Huntoon, who was attending a conference in Monterey with
<br />three other Council members, and advised the Mayor of the information he had received from the City Attorney
<br />regarding the use of Fleming Park, and the Mayor then said the request would have to be denied.
<br />Mr. Lightburn stated that irregardless, he feels the whole matter was handled very poorly and as far as the
<br />City is concerned, in his opinion, it is "a hell of a way to run a City".
<br />Mr. Henry Smith, 927 Iowa Avenue, Colton, stated he has lived in Colton all his life and as far as he is con-
<br />cerned, this City has not changed a bit or progressed at all since 1923. Mr. Smith said Colton is still as
<br />archaic and opinionated as ever, however, he seriously hopes that someday the governing body will change its
<br />attitude.
<br />After additional discussion among Council members, Staff, and proponents, Mayor Huntoon said he is sorry for
<br />the misunderstanding, however, he does resent being blamed for something he knew nothing about or had any
<br />control over.
<br />EXECUTIVE SESSION:
<br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:45 p.m., on the request of Mayor Huntoon.
<br />The City Council reconvened at 9:07 p.m., all members present.

<br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Resolution No. 3433
<br />was approved.

<br />Resolution of Appreciation.
<br />Councilman Hayes stated that Mr. Harold Warman, the Colton High School Band Director, will be leaving the
<br />Colton Joint Unified School District in the near future and he felt that a Resolution of Appreciation should
<br />be sent to Mr. Warman from the City, commending him for his years of service and the fine job he did with
<br />the high school band.
<br />On motion of Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins and unanimously passed, Council approved
<br />presenting a Resolution of Appreciation to Mr. Harold Warman, who is leaving the Colton Joint Unified School
<br />District.

<br />With no further business to come before the City Council at this time, on motion of Councilman Rehrer, seconded
<br />by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the meeting at 9:12 p.m., to meet for an
<br />Adjourned Regular Meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 1974, at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

<br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City
<br />of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Mayor Huntoon
<br />presiding.
<br />ROLL CALL:
<br />Council members present were Hayes', Spragins, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Huntoon. Also present were City
<br />Manager Huffaker, City Clerk Ramos, Finance Director McGuire, Acting Police Chief Elliott, Fire Chief Temby,
<br />Public Works Superintendent Young, and Planning Director Williams",.
<br />Councilman Hayes entered the Council Chambers at 7:40 p.m. Planning Director Williams joined the Council
<br />Meeting at 8:35 p.m.
<br />Introduction
<br />City Manager Huffaker reported the purpose of this meeting was to inform the Council on the status of the Meet
<br />and Confer Sessions with the two employees associations.
<br />City Manager Huffaker stated that in addition to the Meet and Confer items he had a report from City Attorney
<br />Hutton's office in regards to the M & M Garage.
<br />Executive Session
<br />Council adjourned to executive session at 7:35 p.m.
<br />Report on the M & M Garage status was given by City Manager Huffaker.
<br />Reports on Meet and Confer items given by City Manager Huffaker, Finance Director McGuire and Staff Members present.
