RAMOS, CMC <br />City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />Approved this 6th day of May, 1986. <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 29, 1986 <br />177 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular <br />Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the <br />above given date at 5:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, <br />Mayor Huntoon presiding. <br />Mr. Edwards stated Staff has compiled and delivered an insurance survey <br />form to the Coachella Valley Joint Powers Insurance Authority as a <br />possible alternative insurance carrier for the City. Mr. Edwards ad- <br />vised the CVJPIA was created on July 25, 1985, for the express pur- <br />pose of providing insurance programs to members of the Coachella Valley <br />Association of Governments, CVAG, and other interested cities. <br />Mr. Edwards then explained the liability program as set up by the <br />CVJPIA. <br />Mr. Edwards said Calvert -Belden can renew the insurance the City now <br />has with a net coverage of $600,000, no excess coverage would be avail- <br />able, at a premium cost of $213,141. <br />Mr. Edwards stated that Staff is recommending, however, that the City <br />allow the present coverage to expire, go bare, and enter into an agree- <br />ment with CVJPIA for insurance coverage. <br />Discussion then followed among Council Members and Staff with regard to <br />the City's present coverage and the possibility of entering into an <br />agreement with the CVJPIA. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to allow <br />our existing liability insurance to expire, and consider entering into <br />an agreement with the Coachella Valley Joint Powers Insurance Authority. <br />Upon Roll Call, the Vote was two AYES, Rios, Cisneros; three NOES, <br />Rehrer, Garcia, Huntoon. Motion did not carry. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to renew <br />the City's Liability Insurance Coverage through Calvert -Belden Insurance <br />Company, as outlined by Staff. Upon Roll Call, the Vote as unanimous. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 5:50 p. m., to discuss <br />Matters of Real Estate/Litigation, pursuant to Government Code Section <br />54956.8, Labor Relations Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section <br />54957.6, and Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section <br />54957, and reconvened at 6:55 p. m., all Members present. <br />APR 2 9 1986 <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Rios, <br />Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia <br />and Mayor <br />Huntoon.
