The Board of Trustees of t -,-,e City of Colton do ordain as followe. Section 1. All cement used in the City of Colton for the construction of any public works or improrements3 including sidewalks, curbing, gut - tern, Pavements, bridges and culverts shall be Portland cement, and s'Lall conform to the quality hereinafter specified. Section 11. The cement herein mentioned shall be of so -me standard brand, and shall be of such quality that it will satisfactorily pass and meet the following requirements and tests,. Said requirements and tests are as following: Portland Cement, Definition„ This term is applied to the finely pulverized product resultJng from the calcination to Incipient fusion of an intimate mixture of properly proportioned argillaceous and calcareous materials, and to which no addition greater than three (3of) per cent has been made subsequent to cal- cination. Specific Gravity. The specific Gravity of cement shall not be less than three and ten hundredths, (3.10). Should the test of cement as received fall below this require-nient, a second test may be made upon a sample ignited at a low red heat. The loss in weight of the ivnited cement shall not exceed four per cent, (4%)p Fineness. It shall leave by weight a residue of not more than five per cent, (5jo) on the Number 100, and. not more than seventeen per cent, (17Y.) on the number 200 si,:re.
