CCUATRUUCTI©N 3F A3: TPT1792T Tn_MQRKS__AA1M_I1!P_,RUVH1WTS IN <br />TF.E CITY OF COLITON. <br />The Board of Trustees of t -,-,e City of Colton do ordain as followe. <br />Section 1. <br />All cement used in the City of Colton for the construction of <br />any public works or improrements3 including sidewalks, curbing, gut - <br />tern, Pavements, bridges and culverts shall be Portland cement, and <br />s'Lall conform to the quality hereinafter specified. <br />Section 11. <br />The cement herein mentioned shall be of so -me standard brand, <br />and shall be of such quality that it will satisfactorily pass <br />and meet the following requirements and tests,. <br />Said requirements and tests are as following: <br />Portland Cement, Definition„ This term is applied <br />to the finely pulverized product resultJng from the calcination to <br />Incipient fusion of an intimate mixture of properly proportioned <br />argillaceous and calcareous materials, and to which no addition <br />greater than three (3of) per cent has been made subsequent to cal- <br />cination. <br />Specific Gravity. The specific Gravity of cement shall not be <br />less than three and ten hundredths, (3.10). Should the test of cement <br />as received fall below this require-nient, a second test may be made <br />upon a sample ignited at a low red heat. The loss in weight of the <br />ivnited cement shall not exceed four per cent, (4%)p <br />Fineness. It shall leave by weight a residue of not more than <br />five per cent, (5jo) on the Number 100, and. not more than seventeen <br />per cent, (17Y.) on the number 200 si,:re. <br />
