R-107-06 N0+ 05(� <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI7 OF <br />COLTON CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF A S?ECIAL <br />ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 6 007 TO <br />FILL A VACANCY OF AN ELECTIVE OFFICE <br />WHEREAS, a vacancy in the elected office of the City Tr asurer will be created when <br />City Treasurer Michael J. Williams retires effective August 3 006. BE IT RESOLVED by the <br />City Council of the City of Colton as follows: <br />WHEREAS, Government Code Salon 365 2 provides that vacancies in an elective <br />office may be filled by calling a special elect to be held on the next regularly established <br />election date not less than 114 days fr m t call f the special election; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to o ment Code Section 36512 and Elections Code <br />section 1000, the City Counekdesires hold a special election on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, <br />for the purpose of filling the <br />Treasurer vacancy. <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1.Th y Council hereby calls a special election to be held in the City of <br />Colton, California on Tues y, ch 6, 2007. <br />SECTI 2. C' Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to procure <br />and furnish any and I offici (lots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and <br />a t m_ay_becessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct the election. <br />SECTIO The polls for the election shall be open at 7:00 o'clock a.m. of the day <br />of the electiona shill remain open continuously from that time until 8:00 o'clock p.m. of <br />the same day en the polls shall be closed. <br />7ucted <br />ION 4.
