COUNCIL/PLANNING COMMISSION DISCUSSION AND COMMENTS <br />Opinions and views recommended for possible consideration as to the best way to proceed based <br />on the desired out come to provide direction to staff (as stated above) were verbalized and <br />discerned by both Councilmembers present and the Planning Commissioners'; staff provided <br />clarification as needed; comments made during Public Comment were taken into consideration. <br />In conclusion and with consensus of Councilmembers present and the Planning Commissioners' <br />the following direction to staff was given: <br />1. Do not extend the SDA Overlay Zone to industrial areas north of Interstate 10; <br />2. Proceed with expansion of the SDA Overlay Zone to appropriate industrial properties in <br />South Colton; <br />3. Following completion of #2, establish a blue ribbon committee following the rezoning in <br />South Colton to work on attracting high quality tenants for industrial properties located <br />north of Interstate 10 (i.e., Pennsylvania Ave./BNSF railroad corridor). The committee <br />shall include industrial property owners, residents, and a representative from the City <br />Council and Planning Commission; <br />4. Proceed with revisions to the SDA Overlay Zone code section to provide for a "Master <br />Conditional Use Permit" as a means of satisfying SDA requirements; and, <br />5. Delete or revise General Plan Policy LU -1.9 to be consistent with this direction as part of <br />the next General Plan clean-up. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />At 7:13 p.m. Mayor Pro Tem Navarro and Chairperson Prieto adjourned the Special Meeting. <br />Carolina R.
