CEREMONIAL MATTERS Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />• Presentation - Business Focus — Making A Difference Association (MADA) <br />Mayor Zamora recognized the Making A Difference Association (MADA) and presented MADA <br />Director Tammy DeHesa with the "You Make a Difference" certificate. Ms. DeHesa provided a <br />brief background on the in-home support services provided for families through their program. <br />• Presentation - Public Education Update, Jerry Almendarez, Superintendent — Colton Joint <br />Unified School District (CJUSD) <br />Colton Joint Unified School District Superintendent Jerry Almendarez and Assistant Superintendent <br />of Education Services Mike Snellings gave a PowerPoint presentation and provided an update on <br />new policies put into place at the CJUSD, including the Common Core criteria and state standards. <br />Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Jim Ayala provided a fiscal background and the <br />budget update portion of the PowerPoint. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />NOVEMBER 5, 2013. <br />Mayor Sarah S.
