ORDINANCE NO. 0-06-12 <br />TIME AND PLACE FIXED TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER <br />AMENDING TITLE 18, CHAPTER 18.50 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br />RELATING TO SIGNS. <br />Mayor announced the Public Hearing remains open as continued from the April 23, 2012 council <br />meeting and opened Public Comment. <br />The following community members addressed the Council: <br />Gary Grossich <br />Mayor Zamora then closed the Public Hearing. <br />Development Services Director Mark Tomich gave a PowerPoint presentation, provided <br />information and answered questions from Council regarding this item. <br />Motion and second by CM Oliva/CM Perez, to move forward with staff recommendation with <br />the change in the language to include a durable material for channel letters and just removed the <br />"foam material is not allowed." There was oppositions by MPT Gonzales, CM Toro and CM <br />Bennett on this motion. <br />CM Toro made an amended motion to CM Oliva's original motion with a second from CM Perez <br />as follows: That freeway oriented signs including offsite advertising should go to the Planning <br />Commission and any other signs including tenant directory and directional signs should remain <br />at staff level.
