ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 31, 1987 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular <br />Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the <br />above given date at 6:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, <br />Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia, and Mayor <br />Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Benest, City Attorney Edwards, <br />and City Clerk Ramos. <br />Meet and Confer <br />Linda Molina, 17512 Jackson Avenue, Fontana, Administrative Secretary <br />for the Police Department, spoke to the Council of her concerns regard- <br />ing Meet and Confer matters for the Management/Confidential Unit, ad- <br />vising that she and Dee Saenz, Administrative Secretary, Finance De- <br />partment, had been transferred from the Management/Confidential Unit <br />to the General Unit, and they were both protesting this and the fact <br />they feel they were not represented. <br />Mrs. Molina quoted sections from the Government Code relating to the <br />Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, stating she felt her position would still be <br />considered "confidential". Mrs. Molina concluded she was stating for <br />the record that she and Dee Saenz did not wish to join the General Unit <br />they wish to stay in the Management/Confidential Unit, and requested an <br />answer from the Council on this issue. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked Mrs. Molina if she was a dues -paying member of <br />the San Bernardino Public Employees Association. <br />Mrs. Molina responded yes she was. <br />Mr. Jim Meith, Employees Respresentative of the San Bernardino Public <br />Employees Association, advised the Council that the Units had already <br />ratified the Contracts, the General Unit by a vote of 4 - 1, and the <br />Management/Confidential Unit by a vote of 2 - 1. Mr. Meith stated this <br />matter had been open for discussion at the employees' meeting. <br />Rapid Transit Train <br />City Manager Benest stated that Mr. Wesley C. McDaniel, from SANBAG, <br />was to have spoken to the Council this evening concerning the Rapid <br />Transit Train, however, he was not present, therefore, he would make <br />the presentation. <br />1 <br />
