ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 17, 1987 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular <br />Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the <br />above given date at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, <br />Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia, and Mayor <br />Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Benest, City Attorney <br />Edwards, Assistant City Manager Keane, Fiscal Operations Manager <br />Young, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />BUDGET: <br />Revenue Sharing <br />Mayor Gonzales announced this was the time and place for public <br />hearing to consider the Revenue Sharing Funds Budget. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no written objections or protests had been filed. <br />Assistant City Manager Keane gave the presentation. Ms. Keane stated <br />the hearing is to approve the use of left over 1986-87 Fiscal Year <br />Revenue Sharing Fund monies. Ms. Keane reported the City anticipates <br />having $144,793 in federal revenue sharing funds for expenditure in <br />Fiscal Year 1987-88. These funds are,as previously stated,the balance <br />of FY 1986-87 monies which will not be spent in the current year. <br />Ms. Keane reminded the Council that the no additional revenue sharing <br />funds are anticipated for Fiscal Year 1987-88. <br />Ms. Keane reported the purpose of this evening's meeting is to comply <br />with the Revenue Sharing regulations relating to a properly advertised <br />public hearing to consider the allocation of the funds. Ms. Keane <br />stated revenue sharing funds may be used by the City for any purpose <br />approved by the City Council. Once approved, these monies may not <br />be shifted to other programs without additional public hearings. <br />Council's policy in the past, has been to allocate a majority of <br />the monies available to the purchase of capital equipment. This <br />year the proposed Human Services Department budget contains a number <br />of new and expanded programs. Staff is recommending that the balance <br />of the City's revenue sharing monies be allocated in Fiscal Year <br />1987-88 to cultural and human services programs contained within <br />this budget. <br />1 <br />
