Community Development Director submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections had been received. Community Development Director Aguilera reported that the public hearing this evening was to comply with state and county regulations which require that the City Council conduct an advertised public hearing for prioritizing of Community Development Block Grant project proposals. Mr. Aguilera advised the City of Colton's total allocation for the next fiscal year will be $187,503, which will include five proposed projects that have been preapproved by the County as eligible for funding as follows: 1. Urban Beautification Capital Improvements for South La Cadena Corridor - $111,253. 2. Implement Computerized Mapping Project - 20,000. 3. Curb and Gutter Improvements along South Fifth and Congress Streets - 17,500. 4. Senior citizens Outreach Program - 20,000. 5. Contingency Fund. (Ten percent (10%) allocation must be withheld for contingencies) - 18.750. TOTAL $187,503. Mr. Aguilera concluded if Council concurs with Staff's report and recom- mendation, adoption of Resolution No. R-42-87 would be in order. Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, the Public Hearing was terminated. Unanimous vote. Councilwoman Garcia inquired about the possibility of funding the five remaining projects in the future, in particular, those that pertain to youth projects. City Manager Benest responded that the youth projects were one element that was looked at and deleted because they could be funded by other available funding. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to ap- prove Resolution No. R-42-87. Unanimous vote.
