City Manager Benest stated that many residents have inquired about the <br />Latch Key Program, and the City is now making application for funds to <br />continue this Program. Mr. Benest said that possibly by fall the City <br />will have something started. <br />Councilwoman Garcia stated she would like to see the newspapers print <br />something about the Latch Key Program, and if anyone is interested to <br />be sure and contact City Hall. Mrs. Garcia said the only way to get <br />this program going again is by community involvement and interest. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve - <br />Agreement between the City of Colton and Los Padrinos of Southern Cali- <br />fornia, as outlined by Staff, and authorizing Mayor and City Clerk to <br />execute same. Unanimous vote. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Electric Substation <br />City Manager Benest stated the City Council and Redevelopment Agency <br />cordially invite everyone to the dedication of the City's new "Century" <br />Electrical Substation, located in the Cooley Ranch, completed for ser- <br />vice during our Centennial Year celebration, to be held on Thursday, <br />August 6, 1987, between 4:00 and 5:00 p. m. <br />Councilman Rehrer <br />Mayor Gonzales said he would like to congratulate Councilman Leroy <br />Rehrer on his 65th birthday, and wished him many more years of good <br />health and happiness. <br />RECESS• <br />The City Council recessed at 8:05 p. m., to take up the business of the <br />Redevelopment Agency, and reconvened at 8:12 p. m., all Members present. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 8:12 p. m., to discuss <br />Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957, and re- <br />convened at 8:32 p. m., all Members present. <br />Personnel <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to deny re- <br />quest for six months extension of Leave of Absence for Billy Jackson. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia and unani- <br />mously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 8:35 p. m. <br />HELEN A.
