No. 0-14-87, First Rdg. <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Community Development Director Aguilera reported the text amendment <br />recommends amendment to Sections 18.12.160, Uses Permitted in Each <br />Zone, and 18.16.020, Dwelling Size. <br />Mr. Aguilera advised with respect to Section 18.12.160, the Planning <br />Commission recommends that Child Care Services be allowed, with a <br />Conditional Use Permit, in R-1, R -E and PF Zones. This will provide <br />additional opportunity within the City for child care center, day <br />care centers and the like. The Conditional Use reqirement will ensure <br />that all such proposed uses will be reviewed by the Planning Commission. <br />Mr. Aguilera stated with respect to Section 18.16.020, the Planning <br />Commission recommends that a note regarding development standards for <br />multiple dwelling unit projects incorporating a bonus room/den <br />concept be contained in the text. The purpose of this note is to <br />prevent developers from circumventing the city regulations regarding <br />the size, number of bedrooms, and the number of parking spaces for <br />apartment units by using a bonus room/den as a guise for an extra <br />bedroom. <br />Mr. Aguilera recommended first reading of Ordinance No. 0-14-87, with <br />the waiving of full reading. <br />There being no one wishing to address the Council, on motion of <br />Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, the public hearing <br />was closed. <br />3 <br />
