Mr. Benest requested Council's ratification of his appointment of Mr. <br />Holmer as Human Services Director. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />Staff's recommendation for appointment of Mr. Richard Holmer as Human <br />Services Director. Upon Roll Call, the Vote was: Ayes: Four; Rios, <br />Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia. Noes: One; Gonzales. Absent: None. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mayor Gonzales stated he had voted against this appointment as he felt <br />that financially it was bad timing. Mayor Gonzales stated the City is <br />experiencing constraints because of the Price Club, Revenue Sharing, and <br />Meet and Confer matters. <br />City Manager Benest requested a Closed Session, for Personnel Matters, <br />at the end of the meeting. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. John Longfield, 1809 Cottonwood, Colton, spoke about the proposed <br />ordinance limiting the amount of pets, stating he now has a total of <br />five pets, 3 dogs and 2 cats, and it would be very difficult to part <br />with any of them. <br />Staff advised that further study will be done on this matter and another <br />report made at the next regular Council Meeting. <br />RECESS: <br />The City Council recessed at 8:35 p. m., to take up the business of the <br />Redevelopment Agency for the City of Colton, and reconvened at 8:40 <br />p. m., all Members present. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 8:40 p. m., to discuss <br />Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957, and re— <br />convened at 9:40 p. m., all Members present. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios and unani— <br />mously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 9:42 p. m. <br />HELEN A.
