WAY NORTH OF "C" STREET AND WEST OF PENNSYL- <br />VANIA AVENUE. <br />Street Vacations <br />Res. No. R-99-87 <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Public Works Director Hutton reported on the vacation of the College <br />Walk Way between Bordwell and Rialto Avenues, stating if no protests <br />are heard, Staff would recommend adoption of Resolution No. R-99-87. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Councilman Rehrer asked if that portion would be divided equally among <br />the property owners in the area. <br />Mr. Hutton answered yes, this is stipulated in the Government Code. Mr. <br />Hutton added there is a high crime rate along this walk way, and the <br />residents want to protect their homes and property. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, the Public <br />Hearing was terminated. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rios, approving and <br />adopting Resolution No. R-99-87. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-99-87 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON ORDERING THE ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION <br />OF THE COLLEGE WALK WAY. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Walk -A -Thou March <br />Teen Challenge <br />City Manager Benest referred to a letter dated July 15, 1987, from Teen <br />Challenge of Southern California, requesting permission to organize a <br />Walk-A-Thon through Colton on August 10, 1987. The correspondence also <br />included a map indicating the March route. <br />Mr. Benest advised this request has been reviewed by Staff and approval <br />is recommended, providing the participants walk single file and obey all <br />of the traffic signs and regulations. <br />Mr. Steve Morgan, P. 0. Box 5068, Riverside, representing Teen Challenge <br />of Southern California, also requested permission to display banners at <br />two locations in the City. <br />4 <br />
