Mayor Gonzales stated he would like to assure the residents that the <br />City is working on this problem, and will continue seeking a solution. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Budget <br />Carnegie Museum <br />Redevelopment Manager Jennifer Thornberry reported from a memorandum re- <br />garding establishing a budget for the Colton Carnegie Musuem. Mrs. Thorn- <br />berry outlined grants received for renovation of the Museum, amounting to <br />$402,908, minus $13,392 used for architectural and engineering work re- <br />quired for the building's renovation, leaving a balance of $389,516. <br />Mrs. Thornberry advised that Wyatt Construction was awarded a contract, <br />in the amount of $48,632, for Phase I of the renovation of the Museum. <br />Mrs. Thornberry stated the Council must now formally establish a budget <br />for the Museum project, and Staff is recommending a budget in the amount <br />of $389,516. Prior to the expenditure of these funds, Council will have <br />a number of opportunities to discuss and approve the various phases of <br />the project. <br />Mrs. Thornberry concluded Staff recommends that Council. establish a <br />budget for the renovation of the Carnegie Museum in the amount of <br />$389,516. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, approving <br />Staff's recommendation to establish Budget for the Colton Carnegie <br />Museum. Unanimous vote. <br />City Manager Benest advised there will be a Ground Breaking Ceremony <br />for the Carnegie Musuem on Friday, November 20, 1987, at 10:30 a. m. <br />Closed Session <br />Mr. Benest requested a Closed Session at the end of the Meeting to dis- <br />cuss Personnel Matters. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Ordinance No. 0-21-87 <br />Second Reading <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 0-21-87 for Second Read- <br />ing, reading it as to number and title only: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-21-87 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, AMENDING <br />(Second Reading) ORDINANCE NO. 1602, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING <br />FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to pass <br />Second Reading and adopt ORDINANCE NO. 0-21-87.
