Mayor Gonzales stated he would like to assure the residents that the City is working on this problem, and will continue seeking a solution. CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Budget Carnegie Museum Redevelopment Manager Jennifer Thornberry reported from a memorandum re- garding establishing a budget for the Colton Carnegie Musuem. Mrs. Thorn- berry outlined grants received for renovation of the Museum, amounting to $402,908, minus $13,392 used for architectural and engineering work re- quired for the building's renovation, leaving a balance of $389,516. Mrs. Thornberry advised that Wyatt Construction was awarded a contract, in the amount of $48,632, for Phase I of the renovation of the Museum. Mrs. Thornberry stated the Council must now formally establish a budget for the Museum project, and Staff is recommending a budget in the amount of $389,516. Prior to the expenditure of these funds, Council will have a number of opportunities to discuss and approve the various phases of the project. Mrs. Thornberry concluded Staff recommends that Council. establish a budget for the renovation of the Carnegie Museum in the amount of $389,516. Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, approving Staff's recommendation to establish Budget for the Colton Carnegie Museum. Unanimous vote. City Manager Benest advised there will be a Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Carnegie Musuem on Friday, November 20, 1987, at 10:30 a. m. Closed Session Mr. Benest requested a Closed Session at the end of the Meeting to dis- cuss Personnel Matters. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Ordinance No. 0-21-87 Second Reading City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 0-21-87 for Second Read- ing, reading it as to number and title only: ORDINANCE NO. 0-21-87 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, AMENDING (Second Reading) ORDINANCE NO. 1602, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to pass Second Reading and adopt ORDINANCE NO. 0-21-87. Unanimous vote. 3
