(21) Permits <br />Request for Annual Dance Permit, Casa de Colton, Lorenzo Gomez, <br />1353 West Valley Boulevard. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar, with deletion of Item No. 20. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Boards 5 Commissions <br />San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District <br />City Manager Benest advised the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water <br />District has invited the City of Colton to participate in its Advisory <br />Commission and two Council representatives must be designated to serve <br />for a term ending June 30, 1988. Mr. Benest advised that Mayor Gonzales <br />has expressed his willingness to serve as the City's representative, and <br />an alternate member needs to be selected and submitted. <br />Councilwoman Garcia moved to appoint Councilman Rehrer as the alternate <br />member to serve on the Advisory Commission of the San Bernardino Valley <br />Municipal Water District. Motion seconded by Councilman Rios and unani— <br />mously passed. <br />City Attorney Edwards asked if the motion was meant to include Mayor <br />Gonzales as the representative. <br />Councilwoman Garcia stated she would amend her motion to include Mayor <br />Gonzales as the City's representative. Seconded by Councilman Rios and <br />unanimously passed. <br />Resolution of Recognition <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION honoring Robert <br />J. Mapstead, Firefighter Specialist, for his many achievements with the <br />California Fireman's Olympics and the World Police and Fire Olympics. <br />The Resolution was accepted by Mr. Mapstead. <br />Resolution of Support <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT on behalf of the <br />United States Soccer Federation, in bringing the 1994 World Cup to the <br />United States. The Resolution was accepted by Human Services Director <br />Richard Holmer. <br />Resolution of Commendation <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION on behalf of <br />Benjamin Ochoa, Sr., General Manager of Colton Cablevision, commending <br />him for his fine service to the community and wishing him well in his <br />new endeavors. The Resolution was accepted by Mr. Ochoa, who thanked <br />the Council and City Staff for all of their cooperation and support. <br />W <br />
