Contractor shall ensure that its name, telephone number and the Vehicle number <br />shall be painted on all Vehicles in letters and figures not less than four inches high in letters of <br />contrasting color, indicating the Vehicles are owned and operated by Contractor. Contractor's name <br />and telephone number shall be displayed on each side of the Vehicle and the number on the rear <br />thereof. No other signs or markings shall be placed on Vehicles or other collection Service Assets <br />without City approval, including use of the City name or logo, except for safety markings, public <br />relations signs, or instructions regardina filling or placement of collection bins. <br />(5) Public Relations Signage. Contractor shall equip both sides of Vehicles with frames capable of <br />securing informational signs. Contractor shall design, produce and install interchangeable signs <br />containing messages designed to promote waste management programs (including recycling and <br />composting), credit the City (throujh City logos or othenvise) and enhance environmental awareness, <br />in English and Spanish and additional languages directed by the City. Contractor shall submit its <br />designs for such signs to the City and the City may comment upon them within two weeks thereafter. <br />Signs shall be subject to City approval and changed upon City direction. <br />(6) Maintenance. Contractor shall at all times maintain Vehicles in good, clean condition and repair <br />in accordance with approved industry standards to ensure proper and safe operation. Contractor shall <br />maintain an incentive program to recognize its mechanics' good performance. Contractor <br />acknowledges that it is important to the City that Contractor present a professional, safe, and pleasing <br />image. Therefore, Contractor shall keep all vehicles clean and presentable. Contractor shall maintain <br />a maintenance loj for all Vehicles of their maintenance records conforming to the highest standards of <br />the Department of Transportion.. <br />Contractor shall maintain in readiness at least one spare Vehicle, fully fueled and ready to dispatch <br />and replace any Vehicles which breaks down on route. Customers on such route shall not have to <br />wait for Service while the disabled Vehicle is repaired. Contractor shall assure that no hydraulic fluid <br />or other liquid leaks from any Vehicle onto the pavement or that if such leak occurs, Contractor will <br />immediately clean it up. Contractor's contingency plan, attached as Exhibit 5.08, shall detail <br />performance standards for replacement of disabled trucks, including time parameters. Contractor <br />shall recycle all used oil from its Vehicle maintenance operations. <br />h. Containers. <br />(1) Deliverv to Customers. Contractor shall provide Customers with all containers required to <br />provide services at the prices listed in Exhibit 10.O1.Containers shall be of high quality meeting the <br />highest industry standards approved by the City. <br />Contractor acknowledges the importance of a positive Service image, and shall ensure that all <br />Containers are new or fully refurbished when delivered.
