Councilmember Beltran argued that if this position is to <br />retain its authority and autonomy the direction should remain with <br />the City Council as final decisions are made by the City Council. <br />Councilmember Bennett distributed copies of the job description <br />previously submitted to the City Council, which included the <br />statement that the Affirmative Action Officer's position will <br />derive its direction from the City Council. She proposed that the <br />Council take action tonight. Councilmember Beltran remarked that <br />he needed time to review and compare the job descriptions and <br />Councilmember Bennett stated that the job description was the same <br />as submitted to the Council in December.
