COUNCIL MEETING
JANUARY 18, 1994
A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was
held on the above given date at 6:40 p.m., in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding.
FLAG SALUTE•
Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the
Flag.
INVOCATION•
Invocation was offered by Chaplain Kim Starr.
ROLL CALL•
Councilmembers present were Bennett, Sandoval, Rios, Cisneros,
Cook, Beltran, and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Manager
Young, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Ramos.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Streets
Mr. Les Swalley voiced complaint about the "obstacle course" found
in what is known as "Little Colton Avenue." Councilmember Beltran
stated there was a barricade on Colton Avenue. Public Works
Director Hutton said that 1 1/2 years ago that portion of the
street was vacated because of a potential development with the
shopping center - which was not approved. The initial intent was
to vacate, abandon and to make it a part of the property to be
developed. Councilmember Beltran said the property owner is
Lebanoff-McKnight and that when the City forecloses on the
property, the property wail revert to the City. Thereafter, the
City can clean up and revert the frontage.
Ms. Jean Hart spoke up to say that all of the buildings facing Mt.
Vernon were torn down and that it was declared the property
belonged to the City.
1
Ml 1 9 1994
