Daroca and Treasurer Williams had interviewed 9 candidates for <br />Finance Director and had narrowed the field to three likely <br />candidates. City Manager Young recommended the appointment of Ms. <br />Paula Chamberlain who possesses a B. A. degree and has 13 years of <br />experience in the finance area. <br />Discussion ensued regarding resumes, key positions and process for <br />selection. <br />At 10:00 P. M., Councilmember Bennett was absent from the dais. <br />After discussion, Councilmember Beltran asked that City Council <br />Members be allowed the opportunity to talk with the prospective <br />candidate. <br />At 10:10 P. M., Councilmember Bennett returned to her place at the <br />dais. <br />There was a request to review resumes and interview the candidates. <br />City Attorney Biggs informed that Council had been presented with <br />a selection and a recommendation for ratification from the City <br />Manager with the offer to provide resumes; however, she advised <br />anything beyond that places the Council as involved in the <br />selection process. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />At 10:14 P.
