CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MINUTES MAY 23, 1995 In accordance with notice duly and legally iven, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Colton City Council was held on the above given date at 5:30 pm.,, In the Council Chambers of City Hall., Mayor Fu p presiding. ounci lmembers present were Hutton, Sandoval, Bennett, Cook,, Sanders, Beltran and Mayor Fulp. Also present were City Manager Martinez, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Ramos PUBLIC `era' rB r:. 6ea{ db 4 Mr. Ban Casares, 1795 Rancho Aire 6 , reported on behalf of a eomm'ttee of basketball coaches, that they have volunteer coaches who are willing to help run the Community Center, as well as the youth basketball league. Mr. Casarea said the coaches are very e o ' t.ed and are anxious to find out when the Center will open and who will control the Center. He commended Bengie lbarra and Randy Anst ine for the fine job they are doing. ouncilmember Beltran asked City Manager Martinez to provide an update on the Community Center at the June 6, 1995 Council Meeting. Councilmember Cook asked Mr. Caaares if the coaches were part of the group that field. the Rummage Sale at. the Hutton Center. Mr. Casaree said "yes" and the community response was very good Mr. Ray Lopez, 813 Louise Street, stated It is normally the tax payers who pay for the inefficiency of government when it has to increase taxes on everything. He said lie is assuming that all the layoffs that can be done have been done and that the City has completed efficiency studies that indicate this. He 'asked if the constant manning method of operation of the Fire Department had been corrected, because .in his opinion it is too much overtime. Mayor Fulp explained that. City Manager Martinez had brought to the Council _ Fiscal Health Phases I. II and, III and that. the Council had accepted portions of each phase; however, as part of Fuse II, the Council acted not to layoff any more employees and to perform an efficiency study of the Sanitation Department and to do the studies on the other departments at a later dale Mr. Lopez stated the previous administration spent everything and asked if this administration has done anything to prevent this from
