CITY COUNCIL <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />MAY 23, 1995 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally iven, an Adjourned <br />Regular Meeting of the Colton City Council was held on the above <br />given date at 5:30 pm.,, In the Council Chambers of City Hall., <br />Mayor Fu p presiding. <br />ounci lmembers present were Hutton, Sandoval, Bennett, Cook,, <br />Sanders, Beltran and Mayor Fulp. Also present were City Manager <br />Martinez, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Ramos <br />PUBLIC `era' rB r:. 6ea{ db 4 <br />Mr. Ban Casares, 1795 Rancho Aire 6 , reported on behalf of a <br />eomm'ttee of basketball coaches, that they have volunteer coaches <br />who are willing to help run the Community Center, as well as the <br />youth basketball league. Mr. Casarea said the coaches are very <br />e o ' t.ed and are anxious to find out when the Center will open and <br />who will control the Center. He commended Bengie lbarra and Randy <br />Anst ine for the fine job they are doing. <br />ouncilmember Beltran asked City Manager Martinez to provide an <br />update on the Community Center at the June 6, 1995 Council Meeting. <br />Councilmember Cook asked Mr. Caaares if the coaches were part of <br />the group that field. the Rummage Sale at. the Hutton Center. Mr. <br />Casaree said "yes" and the community response was very good <br />Mr. Ray Lopez, 813 Louise Street, stated It is normally the tax <br />payers who pay for the inefficiency of government when it has to <br />increase taxes on everything. He said lie is assuming that all the <br />layoffs that can be done have been done and that the City has <br />completed efficiency studies that indicate this. He 'asked if the <br />constant manning method of operation of the Fire Department had <br />been corrected, because .in his opinion it is too much overtime. <br />Mayor Fulp explained that. City Manager Martinez had brought to the <br />Council _ Fiscal Health Phases I. II and, III and that. the Council had <br />accepted portions of each phase; however, as part of Fuse II, the <br />Council acted not to layoff any more employees and to perform an <br />efficiency study of the Sanitation Department and to do the studies <br />on the other departments at a later dale <br />Mr. Lopez stated the previous administration spent everything and <br />asked if this administration has done anything to prevent this from <br />
