CONSENT CALENDAR:
Ordinance No. 0-16-95
Economic Development Director Gabriel announced that this matter was set
for second reading of a proposed ordinance to allow for the consumption
of alcohol at public places for officially sanctioned special events.
Motion by Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to
waive full reading and pass second reading of Ordinance No. 0-16-95.
Mayor Fulp said the ordinance needed to consider the need for an
applicant, other than the City, to show liability coverage and provide
proof, to hold the City harmless.
Motion carried with Mayor Fulp voting "No" and Councilmembers Hutton,
Bennett and Sandoval absent.
ORDINANCE NO. 0-16-95 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
(Second Reading) OF COLTON AMENDING CHAPTER 9.20 OF THE COLTON
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CONSUMPTION OF
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN PUBLIC PLACES.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Ms. Jean Hart, 952 E. Palm, spoke on a new light for Fairview and Colton
Avenue. She pointed out that the street signs identified "Fairview
Drive" when it should actually be "Fairview Avenue." She suggested
changing the sign. She said she was tired of the speeding on Fairview
Drive. Councilmembers Beltran and Cook suggested referring the signage
matters to the Traffic Committee and Public Works Department and the
speeding matter to the Police Department for action.
CLOSED SESSION•
City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed
Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9 to confer with Legal
Counsel regarding a matter of potential litigation.
City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed
Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54957 to discuss Public
Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release.
At 5:47 P. M., Mayor Fulp declared the meeting recessed to Closed
Session and at 5:58 P. M. meeting is reconvened with all Members
present as heretofore.
City Attorney Biggs reported that City Council did meet in Closed
Session as announced previously regarding one matter of potential
litigation and one matter to discuss public employee
discipline/dismissal/release and stated there was no reportable action.
2
OCT 1 0 1995
