Councilmember Hutton inquired about the accountability of receipts. <br />Mr. Parrish stated that Larson's shall prepare, on a daily basis, <br />a statement of all utility payments accepted on behalf of the City, <br />including all utility billing stubs and a check or money order for <br />the total amount collected each business day, A representative of <br />the Finance Department will collect the documentation and payment <br />on a daily basis. <br />Motion by Councilmember Sandoval, seconded by Councilmember <br />Beltran, to approve the agreement between the City and Bohi Drugs, <br />Inc. dba Larson's Pharmacy, authorizing the collection of billings <br />for utility service charges due the City and to accept payment on <br />behalf of the City at the Collector's retail business premises. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />Aqenda Item No. 13 <br />Mayor Fulp moved for a roll call vote on this matter and said <br />motion was seconded by Councilmember Beltran. Councilmember <br />Bennett asked if the City could afford the annexation process. <br />Economic Development Director Gabriel answered affirmatively and <br />indicated there would be assistance from the electric utility in <br />the sum of $10,000. The Electric Department will foot the bill as <br />they will be involved in the revenue. Electric Utility Director <br />Clarke confirmed there was money for this process. Councilmember <br />Bennett recalled CALMAT's opposition to a prior attempt and <br />Director Gabriel assured that the City is getting CALMAT'S consent. <br />Councilmember Beltran said he had proposed the idea of annexation <br />and that this was a "friendly" annexation. Councilmember Hutton <br />clarified that the proposed action was to seek approval to start <br />the process and Director Gabriel answered "Yes." <br />Motion to adopt the resolution to commence proceedings for the <br />subject annexation carried upon unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-25-95 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON REQUESTING THE LOCAL <br />AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO COMMENCE <br />PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF THE <br />AREA KNOWN AS CAL -MAT CEMENT PROPERTY IN <br />THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO, COLTON <br />SPHERE OF INFLUENCE. <br />Aaenda Item No. 15 <br />Councilmember Sanders inquired if this action will mitigate the <br />flooding in the west end. Councilmember/Director Hutton stated the <br />authorization of the agreement would allow the City an easement for <br />future installation of a storm drain in that area. Councilmember <br />Sanders said this would take care of Meridian and asked if it was <br />also for Eucalyptus and Director Hutton said that this was <br />perpendicular. <br />5 <br />APR 5 '995 <br />
