City Manager Martinez responded that the
Youth Board would continue. He assured that the Recreation and
Human Services Director would address the matter and assign another
person to perform those duties.
Mr. Vincente Valdez, 296 E. "L" Street, addressed the need for the
Hutton and Luque Centers. He spoke against the laying -off of
staff. He said staff made the youth feel at home; they made the
place comfortable for the youth. Mr. Valdez said the centers and
staff helped to keep the kids off the street.
