Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Hutton, to accept and approve the Consent Calendar, except for Agenda Items 8 and 13. Unanimous vote. MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Recognition Proclamation Mayor Fulp read the proclamation declaring the week of March 26 - April 1, 1995 as Architecture Week. Mr. Andres Soto, Principal Planner of the Community Development Department accepted the document. Resolution of Appreciation As requested, Mayor Fulp directed Councilmember/Director Hutton to make the following presentation. Councilmember Hutton read the Resolution of Appreciation upon the retirement of Mr. Gabriel "Gabe" Castorena after 54 years of dedicated and exceptional service for the City of Colton. Representatives from Assemblyman Joe Baca and Senator Ruben Ayala made special presentations of recognition to Mr. Castorena. Mayor Fulp presented a personal memento to Mr. Castorena and to his daughter Cecilia Castorena. Mr. Gabriel "Gabe" Castorena addressed Council and thanked them especially Director Hutton, who he described as the "best director." He thanked the employees who helped him and encouraged them to continue working together for the betterment of the City. He said his wife could not be present and then introduced the remainder of his family: Olivia, Veronica, Bernie and his wife and Cecilia. Mayor Fulp invited everyone to join Mr. Castorena and his family for a small reception in the lobby area. 3 MAR 2 1 1995
