Lebanoff-McNight v. City of Colton, to the Closed Session Agenda, pursuant to Government Code <br />Section 54954.2(b)(2), as there is a need to take immediate action and the need for action came to <br />the attention of the local agency subsequent to the posting of the agenda, as specified in Government <br />Code Section 54954.2(a). Motion carried unanimously. <br />Uk 1: _ 4IKI &13T I Kw <br />Mr. Fred Cordova, Colton, expressed surprise at Council's action on allocating $400,000 to the <br />Police Department. He commented on his neighborhood park and the gang activity. He suggested <br />that the City suspend the telephone system and re -direct those monies to the Police Department. <br />Mr. Cordova suggested that when Councilmember Hutton speaks as a director that he take the <br />podium as he needs to separate himself from the issues. <br />Mr. Charles Jackson praised the Police Department. He urged that Neighborhood Services make <br />all effort to separate adult and children schedules, especially when space is rented for a recovering <br />narcotics meeting. <br />Ms. Jean Hart spoke about the utility statement and inquired why people get the pink final notice <br />after the bill is paid. Mayor Fulp directed the City Manager to investigate and report. <br />MAYOR & COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />District 2 <br />CM Hutton read the proclamation declaring April 28, 1996 to May 5, 1996 as Soil/Water <br />Stewardship Week. <br />District 3 <br />CM Beltran read the proclamation declaring May 5, 1996 as Cinco de Mayo Celebration Day. <br />CM Beltran read an article about removal by Southern Pacific of all the rails in the Mt. Vernon <br />corridor. He asked citizen for input regarding landscaping,bicycle path and so on. <br />District 4 <br />CM Cook invited all to the Cinco de Mayo celebration at Wilson School on May 4, 1996, an all day <br />event of food, games and fun. <br />District 6 <br />CM Hansen expressed condolences to the family of Captain Malouf, <br />District 5 <br />2 <br />APR 2 4 1996 <br />
