Fiber Q12tic Network In answer to Councilmember Hansen's request, Electric Utility Director Clarke provided an update on the Fiber Optics Program. He reported they are in the process of evaluating several optics and putting our fiber into a neighborhood and test marketing services that can be provided by the City including automatic meter reading and other services that could be used on the fiber network. They have access data that identifies how many Internet users we have in the City and they are evaluating where the best location for test marketing would be. He concluded his presentation by stating that the backbone fiber system is in, the fiber telephone system is in linking all the city facilities and they are in a holding pattern evaluating all of the various options including working with other vendors and agencies so that we don't duplicate our efforts. Proclamations * Councilmember Hansen read the Proclamation declaring November 24 - December 1, 1996 as "National Bible Week." * Mayor Fulp presented Certificates of Commendation to the Cemetery Division of the City Clerk's Office for their professionalism, dedication and outstanding service have proven them to be a vital asset to the City of Colton and the Colton City Council recognizes and appreciates their effectiveness and the quality of service they provided this past weekend.
