CM Bennett moved to have rumble buttons placed on Valleywood and Applewood
Streets and to have residents contacted via the utility billing system regarding noise
anticipated. Pros and cons were discussed.
Engineer Larry Eisenhart described Rumble button strips which are used, with signs to
alert motorists about the condition.
Colton Resident John Mitchell asked that Rich Dauer Park be included and Colton
Resident William Richards suggested the use of "dips."
CM Bennett the withdrew motion and requested that the matter be returned to staff
for review and to return on June 18. Mayor Fulp so ordered.
Item 25:
Cooley Drive
CM Bennett asked that Staff investigate her request for a left turn lane at Cooley
Drive. Mayor Fulp directed staff to follow through and report on June 18, 1996.
Item 2 :
Traffic Signal
CM Bennett referred to memorandum from Engineering Specialist James King which
indicated that the signal interconnect system had the capability of having of having an
"all red clear" three second delay function. Selecting the second option, she asked
that the two-second delay be implemented at Cooley Drive/Washington Avenue and
Reche Canyon Road/Washington Avenue, to allow pedestrians more time to cross the
streets. Engineering Specialist King indicated that the signal maintenance people did
not recommend the delay function change since the benefit was limited. Consulting
Engineer Eisenhart said traffic engineers would not recommend the change. He said
that the more red the more motorist will run the light.
Mr. John Mitchell, Colton resident, commented
Motion/second by CM Sanders/Beltran to implement the two-second delay -all red clear
function as requested by CM Bennett and to review the matter at a later time. Motion
carried with CM Cook and Hansen. CM Hutton was absent.
Item 17:
4
JUN 0 41996
