Motion by Councilmember Sanders, seconded by Councilmember <br />Beltran, to approve the Consent Calendar with exception of Items <br />31 61 71 8, and 12. Motion carried with Councilmember Hutton <br />absent due to illness. <br />Item 3 Bid - Award of Bid for Maintenance of the City's Land- <br />scape Maintenance District No. 2. <br />Councilmember Sanders discussed the cost differential between the <br />lowest bidder and other bids submitted. He moved for the alter- <br />native, R P Landscaping ($119,205.00 with 1% Local Vendor Prefer- <br />ence --$118,012.95) rather than the low bidder Mariposa Horti- <br />cultural Enterprises, Inc. Councilmember Hansen seconded the <br />recommendation. <br />Mr. Roy Perez, Owner of R P Landscaping & Irrigation, spoke <br />regarding his past and present business contacts in and around <br />the Inland Empire. Council addressed questions to Mr. Perez' in <br />reference to his bid amounts and scope of work. <br />The above motion carried with Councilmember Hutton absent. <br />Item 6 Bid - Award of Bid for Vacuum Circuit Breakers for the <br />Electric Department to Siemens in the Amount of <br />$27,663.74. <br />Mayor Fulp inquired as to the number of bids mailed. Mary <br />Milroy, Purchasing Coordinator, responded to the number of bids <br />mailed and added that there are only a limited number of manufac- <br />turer's that would be able to respond due to the specifications <br />required to be met. <br />Motion made by Mayor Fulp, seconded by Councilmember Beltran, to <br />approve the above Award of Bid. Motion carried with <br />Councilmember Hutton absent. <br />Item 7 Personnel - Child Care - Approve the Job Description <br />and Set Salary Range for the Position of Community <br />Child Care Teacher's Helper, RESOLUTION NO. R-20-96. <br />Mayor Fulp inquired as to statements listed under Discus- <br />sion/Analysis portion of the Agenda Report, Job Description, and <br />hourly pay. Lori Fritz, Child Care Coordinator, provided <br />clarification. <br />Motion made by Mayor Fulp, seconded by Councilmember Bennett, to <br />approve City Council Resolution No. R-20-95.
