-^ RESOLUTION NO. R-20-96 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF COLTON FIXING THE COMPENSATION
FOR PART-TIME HOURLY EMPLOYEES AND RE-
PEALING RESOLUTION NO. R-74-95
Item 8 Personnel - Finance Department - Approve revision of
the Job Description for Account Technician II.
Councilmember Hansen inquired as to the upgrading and that the
job description does not vary much from that of the Accountant
position. Anna Vega, Finance Director, stated the differences
occur in the area of education and job duties.
Mayor Fulp asked if there were people working in that capacity at
this time. Ms. Vega responded yes and stated the job description
listed additional job duties that were previously not part of the
job description and are being performed by the current employees.
Further inquiry was made regarding specific duties listed in the
Job Description, number of staff employees currently employed,
number of staff employees in 1994-95 Fiscal Year, and education
requirement. City Manager Martinez added that audit reports
indicated that the Finance Department did not have adequate staff
and it needed to be addressed.
Motion made by Mayor Fulp, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to
approve the above Job Description with a change as to education
to read "two (2) years of college work in accounting or business
required." Motion carried with Councilmember Hutton absent.
Item 12 Electric - Approval of an Increase for up to $100,000
to the EPC Contract with Black and Veatch in connection
with the Construction of Distribution Facility along
Meridian Avenue.
Mayor Fulp inquired as to statements in the Background, and
Discussion/Analysis portion of the Agenda Report relative to
design, electrical infrastructure, conduits, and costs. Tom
Clarke, Electric Utilities Director, responded.
Motion made by Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember
Cook, to approve the above increase to the Contract with Black
and Veatch. Motion carried with Councilmember Hutton absent.
PRESENTATION•
With Council approval, Councilmember Cook requested that the
Friends of Veterans Park Committee be allowed to make a presenta-
tion before proceeding with the Agenda.
